Well,
"Some fairy tales end with the girl marrying the prince…some start
there…With the polish of a princess and the heart of a gypsy, she fantasizes
about a life less structured, about sunsets unseen and deserts in the
distance", says Diane about her Spring 2013 collection. Every garment
that set foot on her black lipped runway screamed, "Diane". It was
so her, every outfit you could picture her wearing as you passed her in the Meatpacking district, sunglasses on and phone in hand. Imaginably so, being a designer
is difficult, from season to season reinventing ideas and bringing them to
life. Regardless, somehow they all manage to do it and this time Diane
really spiced up the runway. Just like Diane wished, I pictured the princess traveling through the desert in her printed jumpsuits, crepe tunics worn over pants, gowns, oversized blazers and all of it in vibrantly screaming colors. How could I forget the sequins and shimmer, to match her tiara.
Don't think I was dismissing the goggles? Yes, goggles, like actual goggles. You may have loved them and you may have hated them but hell, Diane was wearing them so embrace them. It's kind of technology meets fashion and then 'kaboom' there was a memorable fashion show!
Such a success!
Ciao,
Annie May
