The September Issue!

Here it is, the September issue of Vogue.
120 years of style clumped into 916 pages of spectacular Fall fashion.

Let's face it, Gaga isn't the most traditional when it comes to her wardrobe.  She tends to be out of the box and very extreme.  Although her hair is a bit wild, a part of me thinks that this is a toned down version of her usual self.  She looks divine in her striking magenta dress and her light airy makeup.  This is Gaga's second time appearing on the cover of Vogue and this one is a stand out.  There is so much to learn about Lady Gaga in the 2012 September issue.  So, head on over to your local convenience store and purchase your September fashion Bible and read up!

A Suede Foot!

People tend to be a little scared to take adventures when it comes to shoes, usually sticking to black or brown, boots or flats.  But, this Fall the trend that is flashing before everyones eyes are suede shoes in colorful hues; rusty orange, emerald green, milk, smokey purple, and foggy blue.  Step in to the shoe department and drink in the color around you.  This trend started with designers like Prada and Mui Mui and caught on like wildfire to the streets.  Punch up one of your simple outfits by wearing a pair of bright suede shoes, similar to these ones below.

Stay suede!

Dressy Shorts!

Lets face it, shorts generally get the "too casual" rap from the fashion community.  But can shorts be dressy?  Well, start with the fabric for instance, choose something dressier than denim.  Silk, twill, tweed, lace and heavy cotton are all great fabrics for dressy shorts. They should be loose fitting.  Mid-thigh is a great length for this style because it is appropriate.  Loose, flowing shorts create a great structure that falls from the body creating an effortless and cool style.   Dressy shorts are extremely comfortable and still maintain a professional look.   Check out these too cool for school looks.

Don't come up short!

Neutral on Neutral!

If you are ever feeling like you need a palette cleanse to switch up your busy patterned wardrobe just take a day off and go neutral.  This new look is bold and chic, and when worn correctly from head to toe, it's a fashion statement that every woman should make.   Many women think that wearing neutral on neutral is just plain boring but, I beg to differ.  If you feel that way try breaking up your outfit with a darker neutral (black or brown) but, if you insist or feel more comfortable use a pattern or bright color.   White, beige, kaki and black are all great neutrals that, when put together properly, can make a definite style standout.  Check out these shots to see how head to toe neutrals are shockingly fabulous.

Neon Punch!

If you are still following the neon craze you are right on track with this falls fashion.  These bright vibrate colors have been seen all over the place this summer and they are slowly but surely trickling into falls upcoming fashion trends.  Fall's neons are going to appear a bit more subtle than summer neons.  Focus on having one item follow the neon trend whether it be your accessories, pants, sweaters or nail polish, get creative!  Here are a few ways women have coordinated these vibrant bold hues into their wardrobe without looking like they have traveled back into the 80's!

Have a bright day!

Shorts Time People!

Well, we all know SUMMER is just around the corner.  That means it is time to start shedding that dull, drab, dark winter wardrobe.  Finally time for shorts...yes, my favorite.  A current fad that seems to be trending are high waisted shorts.  They came in last year and seem to be overpowering for this upcoming season.  They have been spotted in many different styles.  Some appear to be tattered and torn, others dyed and simple.  Oh and how could I forget the ever so trendy...STUDS.  Suggestion, when sizing up for a good pair of high waisted shorts make sure the waistband sits just above your hips, this way tends to be more comfortable and looks better.  Below are a few shorts that are appearing in fashion gurus closets. Take a look...

MB Fashion Week!

It's that time of year again...NYC FASHION WEEK!  Day one of NYCFW is finally over and man is everyone talking.  For the next week the city will be full of celebrities, corporate leaders of the fashion world, and many die hard fashion lovers.  Let's see what Fall 2012 is going to look like.
Here is what BCBG Max Azria strutted down the runway this afternoon. BCBG is one of the most affordable brands that participate in Fashion Week.  They offer day to night pieces mixed in with sophisticated work wear. Tan, olive, royal blue, black, cream, burnt orange, deep teals and forest green seem to be the colors of choice for this collection.  Sheer flowing fabrics, thick fur patches and corduroy seem to be the repeating fabric designs this season.  And color blocking is the ultimate BCBG fashion trend.  Every single garment that came down the runway was sporting some type of trendy color block.  It's all the rage, check it out!

Fall/Winter 2012 Color Trends!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Well, I know it's a tad early to begin thinking about snow considering it is a mere 68 degrees in Rhode Island right now but, the 2012 color trends are just waiting to be worn!  The designers for this winters collections have decided to crush the gloomy "stuck in the house" look and they added a live vibrant "shocking" look.  Of course, they started out with the neutral colors like maroon, camel, caramel, tans etc.  Then they went on to the mid-tone colors such as purple, orange, red, mustard etc. Then, if you believe it, they took chances and added the vivid hues like gold, teal and turquoise (my favorite)!  The designers have stated that it is less about the individual colors but more about the textures and colors used together.  This is where you come in!  Take chances when getting dressed in the morning.  Don't just put on those boring black leggings and that dull gray oversized top (me everyday)! Go out and try these new forecasting suggestions!  After all, fashion is a daring game!  Here's how it's done!
