Beach Waves!

If you are not blessed enough to have naturally wavy hair (me) here are a few ways you can create the beach wave look in just a few minutes without using a curling iron!
  1. Start with damp hair.  A few minutes after getting out of the shower throw your hair into a messy bun.  Go watch some TV or do some homework and wait about 10 minutes before taking it down. Once you are ready let your hair down, shake it out and get some extra hold hair spray.  Scrunch your hair in sections and don't be afraid to let loose with the hair spray.  For more kinks and curls leave your hair in a bun for longer.
  2. Another quick option, french braid your hair into one braid and sleep on it.  Once you wake up, take it out, run your fingers through it to break up the pieces.  Then add some hair spray for the hold.

Fake it until you make it!

I'm heading to South Carolina for a family vacation for a week and will not have computer access.  I'll catch up next week! XO

The Pop!

Neutral colored outfits are a classy but simple way to look put together and presentable.  Sometimes these outfits tend to get boring and you can easily get lost in the mix of fashion.  There is only one way to change that, the pop!  Try adding a little color to your outfit or layer yourself a bit more.  Whether the pop is in your shoes, scarf, jewelry, belt or the actual clothing make sure its subtle yet defined.  Check out the outfits below for some ideas.

Accent your wrists!  Don't be afraid to load up your wrists with bangles, wrap bracelets, watches, cuffs, string, rope, suede and more.  If wearing a simple outfit go ahead and deck out your arms, you can never have too many bracelets.  This look gives a classic and edgy spin to it allowing you to be a versatile dresser.  Take a look below to see how it's done.

Exquisit Tom Boy!

Oversized shirts, vintage button downs, baggy pants and cargo pockets aren't just fashionable styles meant for rugged men.  Girls try it out!  This hot sexy chill look is quite flattering for women as well.  Cut off boyfriend jean shorts paired with a ribbed wife beater and some thick banded cuffs are a great example of a women mastering a mans style.  If you dare, try to wear your boyfriends actual clothing, but don't forget to add a diva pop to it!

If you can't beat em, join em!

Faith In Fashion!

Be proud to show your faith!  A popular trend that is on the rise consists of wearing accessories and/or garments with religious symbols on them.  Designers have taken this trend to the next level by decorating each and every item with a fashionable twist.  For example, I have seen cross necklaces with rhinestones, beading, spikes, feathers and more creative eye attracting decorations.  Forever 21 has a wide variety of all different religious items, check them out online or in your local store!

Tuck It In!

High waisted bottoms are on the rise and it is becoming quite popular to tuck your tops into them. Instead of leaving your top outside of your pants tuck it in and show off the hardware! This look can be slimming if worn properly. Make sure when you are tucking it in that there are no bumps, you don't want to accidentally accent another unwanted part of your body! If necessary, add a belt to the outfit to accentuate your slim waist. If you are uncomfortable with a complete tuck then just tuck in the front and let the back hang out creating a more relaxed look. Try it out a few different ways and see which one suits you the best!

It's alright to let some hang out!

Daisy Dukes!

There is a designer in everyone and it's time to show it!  If you have an old pair of jeans that are either too short for you or you simply don’t wear them anymore, turn them into some funky cut offs.  Follow these 5 easy steps to create your own shorts!
  1.  Fold your pants in half (one leg on top of the other).
  2. Cut them a little longer than you would like, always leaving room for errors!
  3. Try them on to make sure you have cut them to the proper length.
  4. You can either get a small cup of bleach and splash it over the area you would like to look worn out.  Another option is to get a small piece of sandpaper and rub it over the area that you would like to look distressed.  You can also leave them the way they are!
  5. Lastly, make sure you wash them once before wearing them in order to prevent them from fraying.

Work your magic!

Fly Away!

Feather extensions are a huge craze this summer.  Everyone from Selena Gomez to Steven Tyler have a few bird feathers in their hair.  These extensions come in multiple colors, shapes and sizes.  You can buy single feathers, allowing you to group them as you please or you can buy clusters of predesigned feathers.  Feather extensions can be easily applied and easily removed, you can blow dry, curl, and straighten them and you can wash and brush them with no problems.  These funky feathers are a great way to add a little burst of color to your summer style!

Spread your wings!
